Setting up automatic night charging allows your batteries to store electricity during off-peak hours, so you can maximise your energy savings and make the most of your system.
We suggest you amend your night charging schedule during the darker months due to the limited daylight hours when you are less likely to fill your batteries from free solar power. However, this can be utilised all year round depending on your energy usage.
With just a few simple steps, you can schedule your batteries to charge overnight, ensuring you have stored energy ready for the day ahead. Whether you’re a new user or need a quick refresher, our guide will help you enable night charging quickly and easily.

Ensure Grid Charging is enabled - this allows your batteries to charge correctly
Step 7: Set charge and discharge
Click on Charge and Discharge
Click on Charge Time Slot 1
Enter your desired charge time, e.g. 2am to 8am
Tip: 2am start time is optional and depends on your batteries usage
Tip: Always finish charging by 8am
Press save
Step 8: Set the charge rate
Click on Time of Use Charge Current Set
Enter your preferred charge rate, e.g. 50 amps
Press save
Tip: Please never set any discharge time as your batteries will naturally discharge with the house load.
Tip: If you have an EV charging overnight, charge the car first. Charging the car afterward may drain the batteries.
Tip: To maximise savings, this works best on an Economy 7 meter. To change to this day / night meter, please your electricity provider.
Tip: If you do not wish to charge your batteries at night, simply disable the Time of Use Switch. You will be able to reenable whenever you wish.
Tip: You should aim to charge your batteries fully on most days as this maintains your battery's health. So if you are fully discharging your batteries daily, we recommend having a charging schedule to ensure the longevity of your batteries.
Your SolisCloud app is now configured to charge your batteries on a schedule.
