We are thrilled to share that Solarfix have been awarded Highly Commended for Best Small Business of the Year at the Belfast Telegraph Business Awards 2025! This recognition is a testament to the resilience, adaptability, and outstanding teamwork our company has shown over the past year. It reflects not only the quality of our service but also our commitment to innovation, our customers, and Northern Ireland’s journey to Net Zero.

About Us

For those just getting to know us, Solarfix is Northern Ireland’s leading solar panel installation company, helping customers save money and reduce carbon emissions since 2015. We’ve completed over 2,000 installations – both domestic and commercial – and have become a key player in Northern Ireland’s renewable energy sector.

To date, our systems have generated over 16 million units of electricity, offsetting more than 4 million kilos of carbon emissions. Our mission is to help homes and businesses take control of their energy bills while playing a part in Northern Ireland’s journey to net zero.

With a growing team of over 20 dedicated staff, and a turnover now exceeding £5 million, Solarfix is proud to be part of one of the fastest-growing and most important industries of our time – the green energy transition.

Why this means so much -  Being nominated in the Best Small Business category means the world to us – because we have given it our all for our customers and its nice to be recognised. We would not be here without our customers and we are very grateful!

Our Secret? The Team.

What makes Solarfix special isn’t just our products or technology – it’s our people. Our company values – Integrity, Positivity, Quality, and Professionalism – are not just painted on the walls, they are lived every day by every member of our team.

They guide our decisions, empower our staff, and ensure we’re always focused on what matters most: doing right by our customers, and by each other. Even as our team doubled in size this year, our culture remained not only intact but stronger than ever.

Our new site-based colleagues didn’t just fit in – they thrived. Installation efficiency improved by 27%, and customer satisfaction remained impeccable, with over 220 five-star reviews and 0 negative feedback across more than 100 installs.  We were able to pass these savings on to our customers and reduce our prices in 2024/2025.

Adaptability in Action

When faced with a tough market and cost of living crisis, most businesses tighten belts and cut costs. But the Solarfix team did something different. We believed the downturn was short term and market-driven, not performance-related – so rather than retreat, we invested in our future.

  • We hired 10 new staff and planned for expansion.

  • We changed battery suppliers to the new Duracell home battery – and within a year, became Northern Ireland’s top Duracell installer.

These weren’t executive decisions handed down from on high – they were team-led initiatives, with departments collaborating closely to find solutions, implement processes, and measure results.

A Unique Journey

Our Managing Director’s story is a perfect example of the Solarfix ethos. Michael went from being a Solarfix customer living off-grid in a caravan in 2016, to a sales rep, then Sales Director, and now business owner. His journey from customer to leader is living proof that the Solarfix team is a place where passion, trust, and hard work are rewarded – and it’s inspired the entire company.

The belief that anyone in the team can rise through the ranks and make a difference is at the heart of our success. It’s not just a business – it’s a close-knit, values-driven team with shared goals, big dreams, and the energy to make them happen.

Looking Ahead

This commendation isn’t just a moment of recognition – it’s a launchpad. We are incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved, but more than that, we’re excited about what’s next.

We’re continuing to expand into commercial installations, evolving our product range, and building even stronger partnerships with customers and communities. Our focus remains on delivering affordable, high-quality solar systems that help Northern Ireland move closer to its net zero targets – and help families and businesses save money in the process.

Thank You

To the Belfast Telegraph Business Awards, thank you for recognising the work, resilience, and spirit of our team. To our customers, thank you for trusting us on your energy journey. And to the entire Solarfix team – thank you for showing what can happen when great people unite behind a shared purpose.

Here’s to the next chapter in the Solarfix story – the future is looking very bright indeed. ☀️
